Why Eco-Ash?Coal-fired power plants today generate nearly 100 million tons of fly ash per year. The average cost to manage and dispose of fly asah, however, is not cheap: approximately $50 per ton (EPA estimate). New more costly and stringent regulations for the disposal of fly ash are being proposed by the EPA.Since recycled fly ash is not now regulated and will not be regulated under the new rules, Eco-Ash would provide an attractive option for coal-fired utilities, and at the same time, be environmentally more friendly. |
